Programma cittadinanza e pluralismo culturale
L’importanza dell’educazione civica e l’attenzione al pluralismo culturale sono oggi molto sottovalutate nei programmi scolastici. In effetti, questi argomenti possono avere notevoli conseguenze sulle opinioni dei giovani studenti sul loro presente e futuro. Questo è il motivo per cui Andersen International School vuole dedicare un’attenzione particolare a tali questioni attraverso il suo programma di cittadinanza e pluralismo culturale. Questo programma intende dare agli studenti, in particolare agli studenti delle scuole medie e superiori, la preziosa opportunità di affrontare temi cruciali e controversi e di confrontarsi con specialisti altamente qualificati.

This programme intends to give students, especially to Key Stage 3, the precious opportunity to face crucial and controversial topics and to debate them with highly qualified specialists.
In order to respect such a mission, the Programme offers an annual season of meetings centered on seven key themes:
1. Human Rights
2. Peace keeping
3. Multiculturalism and Globalization
4. The Female Condition
5. Religious and non Religious Orientations
6. Ecology and Sustainable Development
7. Health and Nutrition
The Programme will provide specific meetings for each year group and transversal sections for the whole Key Stage 3. Each section will be followed by cross-curricular activities organized by class teachers during the daily time-table. These activities will offer the possibility of an extended multidisciplinary analysis of certain aspects the specialist dealt with during her or his presentation.
The Programme has a Scientific Board, which members are exponents of international institutions, academics and professionals. The Scientific Board is coordinated by the Head of the Programme, who is chosen by the Direction of Andersen International School. A special role has been created within the Programme: the Honorary Scientific Board member, who is an exponent of an international institution. The Head of the Programme organizes the annual sections.
